Di Speirs

For over a decade Di Speirs has championed the short story form in Britain. At the BBC, she has commissioned and produced short stories for Radio 4 and 3 and she runs the internationally acclaimed BBC National Short Story Award.
In her current role as Editor for Books she is responsible for the Radio 4 Bookclub, Open Book, World Book Club, Arts Online’s Books at the BBC and much of the readings output in Book at Bedtime, Book of the Week and the short story slots. She has judged the BBC NSSA every year since its inception as well as the Asham and chaired the Orange New Writers Prize. She was a nominee for the Rolex mentor protégée literature programme.
